One of the greatest UFC fighters of all time will make his return to the octagon on March 4. Jon Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, steps up to face Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight title at UFC 285 inside Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
Jones made his pro debut in 2008 and joined the UFC that year. After losing against Matt Hamill in 2009 via DQ, Jones has gone on a 17-fight unbeaten streak. He beat Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in 2011 to become the youngest champion in UFC history (light heavyweight). Other fighters he has beaten include Quinton Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen, and Alexander Gustafsson.

It will be Jones’ first fight since 2020, when he beat Dominick Reyes via a controversial unanimous decision scoring.
Gane made his MMA debut in 2018, winning the TKO heavyweight title. Gane made his UFC debut in 2019. In 2021 he beat Derrick Lewis for the interim UFC heavyweight title. Facing Francis Ngannou for the undisputed title in Jan. 2022, Gane lost via unanimous decision. His last fight was in September, beating Tai Tuivasa via knockout.
UFC 285 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 4 and is being held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The prelim action is set to start at midnight for UK fans with the main card getting underway from 3am on Sunday morning.
Jones v Gane is then set to begin at around 6am but times will be confirmed closer to the event.
The action will be shown on BT Sport 1 from 1am.
